Engineering & IPR │ Biomedical Design

Holds workshops for fellows on the development of healthcare innovations within engineering, as well as the IPR compliance process.

The BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme is an intensive 10-month postgraduate program for professionals within medicine, engineering, business, IT, design, or related fields. The program equips participants with the necessary tools to develop solutions with real and measurable impact in the healthcare sector.

The program is run in collaboration between Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen and is generously supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Create Medtech supports healthcare innovations that create value in the healthcare sector. Therefore, we find it both relevant and meaningful to teach BioMedical Design and its fellows how to create the best conditions for developing medical technologies that are ready for market.

Teaching MedTech

Biomedical design Fellowship program

Through workshops, Create Medtech teaches BioMedical Design fellows about the complex and critical aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR). Fellows gain the necessary tools to transform concepts into concrete, value-creating solutions in the healthcare sector.

Focus areas:

  • Understanding how to comply with IPR requirements
  • How to carry out an IPR application process
  • What to expect from the IPR process

All with the aim of ensuring protection and long-term sustainability for healthcare innovations.

“Excited to finally have the opportunity to learn the finer details of the patent process as a crucial step on our journey to revolutionize the healthcare sector. From understanding the importance of intellectual property rights to navigating the application process, today’s session has equipped us with the necessary tools to protect our innovative ideas. Very inspiring teaching by Claus Baumann – I think I’ve got it now.

As entrepreneurs, protecting our inventions is essential for creating sustainable growth and making a lasting impact in the healthcare industry. With today’s new knowledge, we are now equipped to navigate the patent landscape with both confidence and strategic insight.”
