Reverse engineering and optimization of medical tool.

The task was clear. There was a need for a very specific type of pipette tip, that no longer was available on the open market. Many had tried to recreate a replacement, but no one had been able to create a viable solution. Then a few establishments, us among them,  were set the same challenge -to reverse engineer this essential pipette tip, with time and function being crucial. 

We triumphed in producing an applicable solution and were the first to do so. It required mechanical adjustments on µm level, a particular plastic blend, and a design that was engineered away from patents. 

The result was a unique pipette tip, IP-rights and good business for our customer, Ronald Care.

Unique pipette tips

We collaborated with Renald Care towards the collective goal of being the first in the world to reverse engineer a unique and essential pipette tip, which was no longer available in the open market.

The development project was constructed of new mechanical developments, chemical analysis, and precision measuring. 

  • Mechanical and detailed point cloud measurements of the original pipette tips and the non-functioning replica pipette tips.
  • Chemical analysis of the plastic composition and plastic types in the original pipette tips.
  • Production preparations in consultation with mold manufacturers -with compatibility in plastic production.
